New season, old photos — but still worth sharing…

Found this from last summer, sitting in a folder marked "get round to it eventually." England's 3rd place finish, and the World Cup final happening today, inspired me to resurface this one.

A brilliant evening at a Chelsea event last August, and a genuinely good chat with Joe Cole — one of the most naturally gifted midfielders of his generation, three Premier League titles, and these days a Chelsea club representative himself.

What stuck with me wasn't the football talk. It was how much elite performers — on a pitch or in a boardroom — share the same instincts: read the moment, trust your preparation, and know when to make the decisive move rather than overthink it. We saw that in evidence a lot, in yesterday’s ‘Bronze Play Off’ game at the World Cup.

With the new season now just around the corner, felt like the right time to finally post this one.
